METAR & TAF Decoder: Support
The app
METAR & TAF Decoder turns raw aviation weather reports into plain language. Type an airport identifier (for example LTFM or KJFK) to read the current METAR decoded field by field and the TAF forecast as a timeline. You can save favourite stations, keep offline copies of reports you have viewed, and share a decoded report. The app needs no account, shows no ads and has no analytics or tracking. The current reports come from the NOAA Aviation Weather Center through a relay on aviationwiser.com. See the privacy policy for details.
Free trial and Pro unlock
You can use both tools free for 7 days. When the trial ends, the tools are locked until you buy the one-time Pro unlock. It is a single purchase, not a subscription, and the price is shown by the App Store or Google Play in the app. The unlock is tied to your Apple Account or Google account.
Restore a purchase
- Install the app on the new device (or reinstall it) and sign in to the same Apple Account or Google account you bought Pro with.
- Open the app and tap Restore Purchases on the unlock screen, or open the "i" settings button and tap it there.
- Wait a moment while the store confirms your purchase. Pro unlocks again.
Refunds
Refunds for in-app purchases are handled by Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com) or Google Play (Play Store help), not by us.
Delete your local data
Favourites, offline copies, language, last station and the trial start are stored on your device only. To delete them, delete the app. We hold no account or personal data about you. On Android, a copy of the app's preferences may exist in your own Google backup; you can remove it in your Google account's backup settings.
FAQ
The app says the station was not found. Check the code. Use the four-letter ICAO identifier (for example LTFM, EGLL, KJFK), not the three-letter IATA code. Not every airport issues a report, and smaller airports often have a METAR but no TAF.
What does the data age or offline label mean? When there is no connection, the app shows the last copy of the report you viewed and marks it as offline together with its age. Old weather must not be treated as current. Reconnect to load the latest report.
The weather looks old or different from another source. Reports are cached for a short time to protect the service and are issued by the weather authorities at their own intervals. The report time is shown with the report.
Where does the data come from? From the NOAA Aviation Weather Center. The app is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by NOAA, the National Weather Service (NWS) or the FAA.
Important
The app is for educational use only. It is not for flight planning or operational use and is not a substitute for an official weather briefing. Always obtain an official briefing before flight.
