About AviationWiser

AviationWiser is an interactive aviation training platform: practical flight tools and trainers that let you learn by flying and understand by doing.

What it is

Five categories — flight calculators, navigation and tracking, instrument approaches and IFR procedures, ATC and weather decoding, aircraft handling and instrument flying — with 69 tools. Each tool is an interactive stage with controls and live readouts, not a textbook page: wind correction shows heading and track diverging, a VOR shows the CDI moving as you reposition the aircraft, a descent planner shows top of descent and vertical speed change as you drag the descent point.

Where it comes from

The platform grows from the IFR Trainer modules (holding, VOR, ILS, DME arc, ADF/RMI, HSI, procedure turn, descent and climb, instrument failures, altimetry). They are the visual and functional reference: the same dark instrument-panel design, the same colour grammar (cyan for what you control, amber for the aircraft and its readings, green for correct, coral for errors) and the same validated math.

How it is built

Every formula is traced to its source and tested against hand-derived values and FAA references before it is published. Calculations shared with the IFR Trainer give exactly the same results as the trainer, and new calculations are tested against published FAA tables. A tool is labelled complete only when its core interactive functions work; planned tools are listed as planned, without a page behind them.
